Actual rating 3.5Amber’s having a hell of a time lately. She’s having troubles at school, getting in fights with people who used to be her friends, her parents are acting more weird than usual, and now they want to kill her.
Betty met her glare with one of her own. “This is your one chance. The only chance you’ll get. If you walk away, we’ll come after you, and I personally will eat your heart, young lady.”
Amber backed out of the door. “Love you, too,” she said, and ran.
So now she’s on the road with a mysterious guy who drives a car that would be at home in an episode of Supernatural.
“You see any rust?” Milo asked, not rising to the bait. “Storing an old car in this humidity is not generally a good idea, not for any length of time, let alone twelve years. But she’s different. She is pristine. Under the hood she’s got the 440 Six Pack, three two-barrel carburettors, and 390 horses. She’s a beast.”
“Yeah. Words. Cool.”
And an Irish guy named Glen who thinks he’s irresistible to all womenfolk, and can’t take a hint, but at least he’s entertaining.
Glen jogged back. “What? What are you laughing about?”
“Nothing,” said Amber, trying to contain herself. “Did you learn anything?”
“No,” said Glen. “Turns out that old guy is German and doesn’t speak a word of English.”
“Then what were you arguing about?”
Glen looked puzzled. “How should I know?”
